Northern Colorado Events and Organizations
At Lighthouse Chiropractic, our core values include giving and service. Through the organizations and events below, we are able to inspire the community to live healthier and team up with like-minded individuals.

Realities for Children of Larimer County
Lighthouse Chiropractic is a proud business member of Realities for Children, a local non-profit organization that helps meet the needs of abused children and at-risk youth in Larimer County. Realities for Children raises over $1 million annually and disperses it amongst 18 local at- risk youth agencies and programs. Their four-fold mission is to promote community awareness and education, provide sponsorships to children's agencies, create special youth opportunities, and allocate emergency funding and support. Realities for Children is unique because it relies on its business members to underwrite the administration so that 100% of donations made go to children in need. Many of the children that Realities for Children helps are children that would have otherwise slipped through the cracks due to lack of funding for government programs or insufficient funding for other non-profits.
Lighthouse Chiropractic joins Realities for Children in their mission in a number of ways, involving our patients as well. This fall we encouraged our patients to bring in school supplies, and together we collected several boxes full of supplies to donate to Realities for Children. From there Realities allowed underprivileged families to come and get what they needed for their children to have a successful school year. Also, Dr. Ed Osgood and the Lighthouse Chiropractic staff participate in as many Realities for Children fundraising events as possible and promotes these events to our patients as well. For example, we volunteered at a golf tournament fundraiser, and participated in this summer’s Super Stars Sports Challenge which raised money for Realities affiliate, Partners Mentoring Youth. Lighthouse Chiropractic believes in the value of a having a healthy community and supporting those who are less fortunate, and that is why we partner with Realities for Children. The Matthews House
The Matthews House is an organization that offers support to at-risk youth ages 16-21 that lack family support in their lives. The mission of the Matthews House is to transition these youth into adulthood by offering them support and resources. Their mission is to focus on helping these youth find safe and affordable housing, physical and mental health, finding employment, education, and interpersonal skills.
Lighthouse Chiropractic fully supports the Matthews House mission, and has been involved with numerous activities. We have been a sponser for the Hoopla for Hope, Wild West Relay, and the Cultivate Hope event. In the past, we have also held patient appreciation days at our clinic where patients have donated to the Matthews House as their fee for an adjustment. The Matthews House is a great organization that continues to need volunteers and donations to help support their cause. Sweetheart City Business Decorating Contest 2012
At Lighthouse Chiropratic, we are always looking for new ways to get involved in the community. As a new business member of Loveland, we have joined the Loveland Chamber and were invited to participate in the Valentine's Day Business Decorating Contest. Since Loveland, CO is also known as the "Sweetheart City," what better way to get involved than participate in a Valentine's Day contest?
We feel it is very important to build strong relationships with other local businesses and collegues so that we have a stronger sense of community here in northern Colorado. We also invited other nearby local businesses to participate in the decorating contest. A local student with big ideas came up with the design and used his talent to decorate our storefront windows. His design of a lighthouse shining a beacon of pink light with hearts really fit the bill and helped us to win the best decorated small business in Loveland. We just want to say a big THANK YOU to our patients who came into the clinic and voted and everyone that voted for us online as well. We are already looking forward to next year with even bigger ideas!

Can Do...Coalition for Activity and Nutrition to Defeat Obesity
Can Do is an organization found in Fort Collins and Loveland whose mission is to improve the health of our community by increasing physical activity and healthy eating habits to reduce and prevent obesity. Can Do has a great wealth of knowledge in helping our community break our bad lifestyle habits and gives us great ideas and help to give us better lifestyle choices. At Lighthouse Chiropractic, we believe in living a better lifestyle to be able to enjoy all the activities that Northern Colorado offers to us!

Ronald McDonald House of Denver
For over a year, Lighthouse Chiropractic Fort Collins has been a drop-off location for those collecting pop-tabs for children in need. The patients of Lighthouse and the community at large have rallied around the cause, collecting thousands of pop-tabs to be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in Denver. The Ronald McDonald House uses the pop-tabs by getting money from the recycled metal. They are easier and cleaner to collect than an entire pop can, and the whole family can join together in remembering to pull the pop-tabs off of aluminum soda, juice, soup, or beer cans before recycling them. Whether you have been collecting tabs for a while with nowhere to take them (as is the case with a number of our patients and community members) or this is your first time learning about collecting pop-tabs, we would love for you to participate with us in this simple task that has a huge impact in the lives of families around Colorado. The Ronald McDonald House is a “home-away-from-home” for a number of families in the Denver area whose children are sick and hospitalized. This allows them to be close to their hospitalized child throughout the difficult times of sickness.
Lighthouse first started collecting pop-tabs when a family Dr. Ed and Ja’Nae knew from church was going through such a situation. Joel Green was only one year old when he was diagnosed with a rare AT/RT brain tumor that threated to take his life. As a family from Loveland, weekly or even daily trips down to the Children’s Hospital were very difficult. However it was just as difficult to stay in the hospital with Joel while their other two boys were at home. Ryan and Amy Green, the parents of Joel Green, considered staying at the Ronald McDonald House, and although it never worked out in their situation, they love and support the organization. And since the patients at Lighthouse Chiropractic were used to seeing Joel’s face around as a rallying point for collecting pop-tabs, we have continued collecting them in Joel’s honor. Today Joel is 2 ½ years old and still battling cancer. Join us in supporting Joel and children in similar situations by bringing your pop-tabs to Lighthouse Chiropractic.
